#Empoweringwomen is a transformative journey that involves breaking down barriers and fostering an environment where they can thrive and #drive. Women gain the confidence and skills needed to pursue their passions and ambitions through their strengths. This empowerment not only helps women excel in their chosen fields but also inspires future generations to challenge societal norms and aim high. By celebrating female achievements and amplifying their voices, we create a supportive community at #womeninwheels, that encourages women to envision and attain their goals, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and inclusive society.
Our next amazing Women In Wheels member is Natasha, she recently joined UKs first all #femaleluxurycarclub and i am so glad she did. Here is her story.
Natasha Penny-Rowe
A mother, wife, accountant and businesswoman, owner of one magnificent #Mustang Mach 1!
My father always loved and had a range of #cars when I was growing up – he taught me how to service my car, change a wheel and be independent. This made me want to help other women with their cars and have a safe place they could bring theirs to. I started a very basic mechanic course at college after leaving school but found I was the only girl in attendance.
When looking for a job in a garage I fell in to answering the phones, admin and bookkeeping instead, and when researching with the view to start my own garage I came stuck in employing other local #womenmechanics – it felt there were none!
For the past 13 years I have ran a succesful accountancy firm, employing mainly women, giving them the opportunity to either return to work or learn this also massively male dominated industry. I loved breaking the norm – new clients would always be surprised at the little lady and all women team telling them how they could help them but we knew ourstuff, took it seriously and were able to go the extra mile with our feminine touches – this won us several awards along the way.
The business success and recent sale, has enabled me to buy the car of my dreams – a #V8Mustang, and now take some time out for me.
#WomeninWheels was one of the first things I joined in my new found freedom. Being able to discuss freely our love for cars, learning others’ stories and attending prestige #carevents is a real privilege. I am very much looking to the drive across Europe together next year in our cars.
My car to me is a symbol of my journey—of the girl who wanted to be a mechanic, the woman who built an empire, and the #carenthusiast who never gave up on her love for wheels.
I want to encourage other women to chase their dreams.Whether it’s starting a business, working in a traditionally male field, or simply living life on your terms, the only limits are the ones you place on yourself. Don’t feel confined by what you think you “ought” to do. And if you have a love and respect of cars – join our club – it’s so encouraging to be with like-minded people; I get a lot from belonging to the Women In Wheels.
